US President Donald J. Trump announced the designation of a Presidential Delegation to attend the Inauguration of President Akufo-Addo, who secured reelection for another four years in the Jubilee House.

According to a statement published on the US White House website, the delegation will be led by Honorable Dr. J. Peter Pham, who is the United States Special Envoy for the Sahel Region of Africa. He will be accompanied by The States Ambassador to Ghana, Honorable Stephanie S. Sullivan.

The inauguration will take at Ghana’s parliament house on Thursday 7th January, exactly one month after the country went to the polls.

  Former Member of Parliament (MP) for Nadowli Kaleo Constituency and Second Deputy Speaker of the 7 th  Parliament, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has been elected Speaker for the 8 th Parliament of the Fourth Republic. It had been a marathon of confusion on the floor of Parliament right from the dissolution of the 7th Parliament through to the election of a new speaker for the 8th Parliament. An election process, which started moments after 12:00am January 7, ran through the dawn to about 6:00am.
